Sega eventually bypassed the licensing issues by hiring Simon Thomley's studio, Headcannon, to help develop Sonic Origins . This collection features Sonic 3 & Knuckles running on an updated iteration of the RSDK engine. To resolve the copyright roadblocks, Sega replaced the disputed Michael Jackson tracks with rearranged versions of the original 1993 PC prototype tracks composed by Jun Senoue.
