Dolcett gained wider internet fame in the 1990s when his works were scanned and shared on Usenet groups, such as alt.sex.necrophilia and alt.sex.snuff.cannibalism . Crucially, the artist's own stories were collected and displayed on a website starting in 1997 by a fan named Karyn, with whom Dolcett shared unpublished material and for whom he drew new stories.
