Carefully examine the top edge of your laptop screen, right next to the camera lens. Run your finger along the thin strip of plastic. If you feel a switch, it's your privacy shutter. Try sliding it to the other position. Then, open the Camera app from your Start menu to test if it's working. If the slider is in the closed position, the camera will remain black or show an error message. If you do not have a physical slider, proceed to the next step.
